I loved this wedding so much. This couple rescheduled from last year to this year and it was the perfect day… well worth the wait. Tyler and Jill share such a special connection – the way they look at each other exudes the love they share. This white barn wedding venue is one of my favorites to shoot at in the Houston area and I hope you enjoy as I share a few highlights of their day!
I really enjoyed their choice of invitations. These were letterpress invitation with a muted grey as the lettering. The paper was thick and felt so nice. You don’t have to go all out with a huge suite — although I love that — you can keep it simple with a few elegant, timeless pieces.
This ^^^ bouquet by F. Dellit Designs is what dreams are made of. I love that even though the bride chose to stick with classic whites and greens, Fawn was able to pull in so much texture! I’m not sure what that white flower with the torn looking edges is but my goodness they don’t look real!!
Getting ready moments are some of my favorites. There’s something so sweet about having all of your best gals around you, helping you put together the bridal look you’ve been envisioning for the past year or more. Jill’s girls were so kind and supportive throughout the whole day, they rocked!
Jill and Tyler decided to exchange letters on their day even though they were doing a first look. It’s a great way to say one more I love you and a perfect momento to frame or put in a shadow box after the big day.
Jill and Tyler opted for a first look because they wanted to be able to get the maximum amount of dancing in at their reception. (my kind of thinking for sure!!) They wanted to take all of their portraits, including wedding party and family before the ceremony, so that’s what we did. It really does take the pressure off for after the ceremony when you’re able to do this and The Farmhouse has perfect wrap around porches to accommodate portraits even on the sunniest of days! One more thing here, I love Jill’s boho inspired hair – that messy braid look is so romantic.
This combination of dusty blue bridesmaid dresses and blue suits was gorgeous. It’s the perfect combo for a spring or summer wedding. The colors complement every skin tone and I love the different styles of bridesmaid dresses as well. Isn’t this wedding party beautiful!?
I think all too often people are worried that doing a first look will somehow ruin the moment of the bride coming down the aisle – but it’s really just not true! I mean look at his face!! That moment is special NO MATTER WHAT!!
We took a few more portraits after the ceremony because it was later in the day and the sun was further down. It allowed for us to be able to get a beautiful glow and utilize her cathedral length veil. Her veil was a perfect compliment to her lace dress, it really added so much!
I love this square arbor that The Farmhouse has available. Visually it goes with their square windows and the asymmetrical flowers frame the couple perfectly. So pretty!!
There are so many outdoor areas at The Farmhouse to enjoy. This night in May was a nice night that wasn’t too hot and a lot of their guests enjoyed the corn hole, jenga and outdoor sitting areas. It’s nice for the people who aren’t into dancing the night away to have a space to enjoy too! Although I tend to be a dance the night away type of girl – you’d find my husband out here if we had attended!
When Jill filled out her questionnaire, when I asked what she was most looking forward to, one of the things she listed was dancing photos. The dance floor was FILLED the entire night – she sure knew her friends would be ready to have some fun. LG Entertainment did a great job knowing just the right songs to play!
Last but definitely not least was a private dance, just the two of them … one last song to soak in their unbelievable day. It really is such an honor to be there in the quiet, heartfelt moments and in the crazy, dance your pants off moments of the day. They went from these quiet moments to their fun-filled crowd awaiting them outside with sparklers.
Tyler and Jill: Thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your day! I know you two are going to have such a strong, happy marriage. You care for each other so well and I love the way you love one another! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day, it truly blessed me!! – Jenny
