It’s taken me time to put together a post that I feel like encapsulates who my dad was and who he was to me.

On Monday, February 16th, my dad passed away unexpectedly. I truly don’t have the words for this kind of loss. He wasn’t just my dad, he was my person. The one who understood me in a way no one else does. The one I could call about anything or nothing. The one who just got me.

We had the sweetest relationship, and I will forever be grateful for that gift. It doesn’t feel fair that he’s gone so soon but I am so blessed to be his daughter. I don’t know how to do this life without him here, but I do know how deeply I was loved by him and that he would want all of us to continue living and loving life.

I heard him say many, many times that you only go around once and you have to live it while you’ve got it. He lived that way and I’m going to do my best to as well. You’ll see in these photos that he practiced what he preached. He LIVED and loved others incredibly well.

I’ll forever miss days at the beach and lake, being his fish fry batterer, commiserating over the stress of owning a business, watching him teach and love my kids, all of the game nights where he beat us at darts, his awesome fires and constantly counting down the days until summer when it wasn’t summer. He was the best dad, husband, grandfather, brother and friend and my world will be a little dimmer without his light.

Please pray for our family during this time. Especially my mom. 🤍 Also thank you to the friends and family who have held us up this past week. The dinners, flowers, text and calls have been so heartwarming during this devastating time.
