Cody and Sophie both live in Utah but Sophie is from Houston so they got married at the Houston LDS Temple. A few weeks ago, we had nothing in the forecast but tons of rain and Sophie really wanted photos of her and Cody around the grounds of the temple. So, after some discussion, we decided that if there was a break in the rain the days leading up to the wedding, we would do a session of the two of them beforehand. Thankfully, we did have a few hours on the Thursday before the wedding where the rain held off and I was able to capture some stunning images. It was 1,000 percent humidity that day but these two are such naturals in front of the camera. It was so nice to be able to take our time for the portraits and a huge stress reliever for them to not have to worry about the rain on wedding day. (We also scheduled a portrait session that evening at The Oak Atelier just incase it didn’t stop raining but I’m going to share those photos another time.)
Wedding day – was … very wet! You’ll definitely see some raindrops in the portraits if you look too close, but we rolled with it and the day was perfect. I also want to say that these two share such an undeniably strong love. The joy and excited that filled their wedding was one of a kind. They both had permanent smiles glued to their faces the entire time and it really was amazing to witness.
